about me
My name is Katia — I’m a photographer based in Vienna, with a heart that lives between the elegance of the city and the quiet magic of the Alps.
I’ve always been drawn to noticing beauty in the everyday and capturing it — first with a film camera during my travels, and later through photography as a profession.
I was born in Riga, Latvia, and later moved to Scotland, where I earned a Master’s degree in Business at a top-ranked university. Living close to the wild landscapes of the Scottish Highlands that exist beyond mainstream tourism, and embracing a radically different way of life, shaped my openness to challenges — and strengthened me, having built my life on my own from an early age.
For years, I worked successfully in wealth management within the banking industry, but chose to leave to follow a more creative path.
Since 2016, I’ve dedicated myself fully to photography. From 2019 onwards, my work naturally expanded into event organisation and curated travel projects, creating intimate experiences in collaboration with exceptional local guides and art historians in Rome, South Tyrol, Provence, Scotland, and Vienna, as well as private and small wedding ceremonies in Bavaria. These experiences now evolve into larger projects, focused on gastronomy and retreat concepts.
During this time, I fulfilled a childhood dream by moving to Bavarian Alps and experiencing life there, but later chose to settle in Vienna, drawn by its beauty and international possibilities — while remaining open to inspiring opportunities life may bring next.
